IMPORTANT Note: This site is no longer updated but remains up for historical purposes. Our pricing and trek holiday offerings have moved to our own website at http://www.alpsadventures.com which also has a copy of this blog’s content, as well as more current posts and full details for the hiking trips you can book with us.
We moved to the French Alps town of Chamonix in 2001. Prior to that we have travelled in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland having mountain adventures such as climbing, hiking and skiing. Now we want to share our enthusiasm for the mountains and the natural environment with you. We can help organize and guide trips for you in the French alps or nearby Italy and Switzerland. The trips can be laid back and lazy or more intense and extreme. You tell us what your dream is and we will try to organize this to happen for you. We speak French and German and of course, English and can help get through all the local red tape and make arrangements in huts etc. for you. We take the bother out of organizing your trip abroad, letting you focus on the fun parts!

From single day excursions to multi-day hut to hut tours, we can help organize hikes in the nearby French, Swiss or Italian alps. We will not only guide the hike and ensure safety and route finding, but also can tell you about the local history, flora and fauna of the region.
Skiing lessons or snowshoeing excursions are available in winter. Snow shoeing is great for skiers looking for a break on a ‘day off’ or for non skiers alike. It is easy to learn to move on snow shoes, and this is an activity the whole family can enjoy. An afternoon’s outing on snow shoes is educational but also fun - we can arrange lunch, vin chaud or hot cocoa in a mountain restaurant only accessible by snow shoes or skiing for example, or even arrange an overnight in one of the winter huts. Ski lessons can be taught on alpine or telemark skis from complete beginner to very advanced levels. Robert is a certified European mountain leader (Accompagnateur en Montagne) via the French system, which is a two year degree, and is BASI-qualified and registered in the French system to teach skiing as well.
If you enjoy or would like to try mountain climbing or ice climbing, we can arrange a certified high mountain guide to lead you on your adventure. We work with a limited number of established, trustworthy English-speaking guides. Please contact us on our current website – http://www.alpsadventures.com
